A couple embraced in a hug and is about to kiss: Kiss quotes for lovers

Kissing is seriously under-rated.

When you’ve been in a relationship for a time, kissing can be the first thing to go out the window. I often joke we’re more likely to get busy with it than kiss.

But the kiss is a beautiful thing.

When couples look to connect, the first thing I suggest is to kiss more.

There’s something about your lips connecting, your breath moving between you that is super romantic.

Plus there’s nothing like it to get in the mood.

These kiss quotes are perfect for lovers. They can help you get all the feels.

Read them then go kiss your loved one.

First kiss quotes

A couple about to kiss, with the text overlay There is a moment-Oh, just before the first kiss, a whispered word-something that makes it worth while. - F. Scott Fitzgerald

I was 13 years old when I had my first real kiss.

It happened in a small town in Central Otago, New Zealand, called Naseby (what better name could there be for such a momentous event, one asks).

Naseby today has a population of about 100 which swells to over 3000 in the holiday season. My friend’s parents owned a holiday home there, and it was by her invitation that Easter 1987 saw me as one of those big city folks invading its often chilly terrain.

Luckily for us, a slew of other teens had also descended on the town for those few days. One of these was Phil and he was hawt.

With the kind of machinations only teens are capable of, we somehow ended up at a house belonging to a friend of a friend of a friend. Phil sat next to me on a crowded couch, our arms both folded.

As the night wore on, he squiggled his fingers until they were touching mine until eventually we were holding hands in a covert and probably quite ridiculous looking style.

I don’t remember what we were watching or who else was in the room.

What I do remember was at some point Phil leant in and we had an almighty – what Kiwis call – “pash.”

Back then the impressiveness of a kiss was measured in terms of how many “rounds of the tongue” you got in – that is, how many times you circled your tongue around the recipients tongue until the kiss was over.

Honestly, it sounds extremely revolting.

But that aside, it was kind of exciting too.

These first kiss quotes sum up everything good about the first time you lock lips with your love.

That first loving kiss, the one that comes out of you from the source of your personal river, and the one that comes from her that is the same, there’s never another moment like it; never another flame that burns so hot.
