Privacy Policy

Please read this privacy policy carefully to get a clear understanding of how I collect, use, protect or otherwise handle your personally identifiable information in accordance with my website.

When do I collect information and what information do I collect?

I collect your name, email address and other information from you when you subscribe to a newsletter or comment on my blog.

I also collect information about visitors who comment due to my Akismet anti-spam service.

This information includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself).

You have the option to have your details stored to avoid having to re-enter them every time you comment.

If you later wish your email address to be deleted, contact me via my contact form and I will remove it within two weeks.

Do I use ‘cookies’ or pixels?

Yes, I do use cookies and pixels. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your machine to help the site provide a better user experience. Pixels deliver information or behaviors to a server.

In general, cookies are used to retain user preferences, to store information for things like shopping carts, to provide anonymized tracking data to third party applications like Google Analytics (read how this works) and to keep track of advertisements such as Mediavine (more on that below).

As a rule, cookies will make your browsing experience better. However, you may prefer to disable cookies on this site and on others.

The most effective way to do this is to disable cookies in your browser. I suggest consulting the Help section of your browser or taking a look at the About Cookies website which offers guidance for all modern browsers.

Members of the EU are shown the Cookie Consent bar to inform them of my use of cookies.

I also use the following pixels for ad targeting:

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (most likely to be embedded You Tube clips.).

Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Third party disclosure

I do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties.

Third party links

Occasionally, at my discretion, I may include or offer third party products or services on my website. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies.

I therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites.
